The Exco XI maintained their 100% record on Friday night after a scoreline that clearly flattered the ‘Co. Starting with 10 men Exco were under pressure almost immediately and Gazzelles dominated the first half and must have wondered why the scoreboard only showed 1-1 after having a plethora chances which were thwarted by a combination of excellent goalkeeping from Barney and some resolute defending by the aging, yet sturdy, back four. But 1-1 it was and with the boys in white sticking resolutely to possession football and a couple of the late arrival giving some much need mobility, holes started to appear in the Gazzelles defense and with John Fawcett adding a second half brace, one a header, to his goal in the first half to come away with the first Exco hat-trick in many a year and Granddad Zavagno finishing with aplomb late in the game 4-1 was to be the final score. Big thanks to the Gazzelles for hosting us and ensuring they played a big part in a free flowing and clean game.
