CSOB and Colts were crowned Chairman's Cup and YYL Champions yesterday at HKFC.
CSOB went into a 5-0 lead against 10 men but with the game appearing to be over HKSS summoned the spirit to fight back with 3 goals and could have added a fourth in a Lazarus like comeback but came up short and the final score was CSOB 5 HKSS 3.
Swiss were leading 1-0 for most of the game after scoring early in the first half but conceded a late goal to Colts that saw a frantic last 10 minutes of normal time with several chances at either end with the scorelines staying at one apiece as it did in extra time and so it went to penalties with with Colts prevailing in the shootout a cruel way to lose a cup final but good timing for the capacity crowd to finish watching and move on to the presentation dinner. Special mention goes to the Swiss XI keeper who played through the pain barrier for much of the game pulling off several fantastic saves.
The awards dinner followed with HKFC laying on a good spread and with the input and organisation of Angel and Michael Yen coupled with linguistic skills and humour of the MC, Jon Mckinlay, the evening went well and was attended by almost 500 people.
