The first division championship will be decided on the final day of the season after second placed Wanderers defeated leaders and reigning champions USRC by two goals to nil to close the gap to 1 point with both teams on the same goal difference, but with USRC playing KCC and Wanderers facing Colts a lot could happen, Colts beat French Kiss 3-1 to ensure third place which means French Kiss will be playing division two football next year, Swiss stay fourth after a 3-1 win over Antonhill which means Antonhill will have to win their game against ANP to avoid relegation, KCC stay fifth after a 3-2 victory over 816 who are in sixth place, Albion are seventh after two late goal salvaged a point against ANP (final score 3-3) who must avoid defeat next week if they are to stay in the first division.
Champions Mobsters maintained an 8 point lead at the top of the third division after a Dean Locke thunderbolt gave them a 1-0 victory over Yan Po, GAS moved a step closer to the first division after an emphatic 7-1 win over White Youth with the Davis Brothers, Chris (5) and David (2), scoring all seven goals in a great display of attacking football, Boca moved down to third place after a 1-1 draw with Oxford, but a win next week for them by 3 goals and anything less for GAS would give them promotion, Spartans are in fourth place after a 2-1 win over University, Hoo Cheung got 3 much needed points after a 3-1 win over WYFC84 and CSOB won 2-1 against HKUSA to leave the relegation battle delicately poised.
HKSS continued their recent fine run of form this time running out 7-0 winners over Rising Sun which means they will be crowned champions next week should they win their final game, Colloids kept up the pressure for the title challenge after breaking Hearts 2-1 which ensures the ‘Oids will be promoted and Hearts, with by far the best defensive record in the whole league, just missing out, Grasshoppers drew 0-0 with OBA to leave them in fourth place, Azzurri went down 0-2 to GGFC, Amphibians and CAPS drew 1-1 to leave them in seventh and eighth places respectively and Hung Art won 1-0 against WYFC06 to leave them needing a victory in their final game to avoid the drop.
Champions Crusaders drew with second placed Power 22 to leave the latter needing a draw or better in their final game to ensure promotion, third placed Scorpions kept up the pressure after a 3-0 win over HOB leaves them in with a chance of promotion, Standard Chartered also have an outside chance after a 3-0 win over Skyline leaves them in fourth place on equal points with Scorpions, Dynamo remain in sixth place after thrashing bottom club Youth Coaches 7-0 and Bapcoll and Barclays drew 0-0.
A lot of promotion, relegation and championship business will be finalized on the last day of the season and good luck to all.
