The semi-finalists for the YYL Cup are Antonhill, GAS, Albion and Wanderers. Chris Davis made it seven goals in a week, this time scoring a hat-trick for GAS against second division Knights with the final score 3-0, Antonhill edged Hearts 2-1 and Albion and Wanderers both also came away with 2-1 wins over holders Colts and Squadron respectively.
Holders HKU70s made it into the last four of the Chairman’s Cup but only after a real scare against HKUSA in the early game at Sandy Bay with the final score 3-2 to HKU70s, they are joined by Scorpions who overcame Skyline 2-1, Hung Art who beat Standard Chartered 3-2 and carry the flag for the fourth division in the semis and Goal Visio who squeezed past CAPS 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out in what was the game of the day with the scores locked at 4-4 after extra time.
The draw for the semi-finals will be held shortly and the games will be scheduled on Sunday 9th March and will be played at King's Park, the duration of the games will be two 40 minute halves. During the quarter finals, semi-finals and finals of the Cup, when a match results in a draw at the end of normal time, extra time of two additional periods of 10 minutes each will be played. If penalties are needed to decide a match which is still tied, each side will take 5 penalties to decide the outcome of the match followed by sudden death penalties if necessary.
As previously notified, the finals of both the Chairman’s Cup and the YYL Cup will be held on Saturday 3rd May at Hong Kong Football Club followed by the annual dinner.
