We have reviewed a red card report and the reports submitted by the referee and the opposition which confirm that a player was shown a red card for violent c onduct. Having noted that the opposing player was on the ground when he was kicked, we have imposed the following penalties in accordance with Discipline Guideline 4:

1. Six-match ban (one match for the red card and another 5 x matches for violent conduct of kicking a prone opponent in the back)

2. HK$500 fine

3. Three disciplinary points.

The league takes a very dim view of such incidents and should the player be involved in any other similar incidents between now and the end of the 2017-18 season he would be likely facing a very long suspension.
