Spartans Make Nick's Day, Colt Slay Dragons, White Youth And IES Through To Chairman's Cup Final |
Monday 19th March 2018 |
In an absolute humdinger of a cup semi-final, Spartans scored two late goals in the second half of extra time to give them a 3-1 win over a Wanderers team who had come back from a goal down and were looking the slightly stronger team in the second half and most of extra time. Master tactician Nick Day, in the running for WAG and teeth of the century awards, has now seen his charges end Wanderers 100% league record as well as beating Albion and Boca on the road to the final. Spartans will be joined in the final on Saturday 5th May by Colts, who appeared to have some pre-match reservations regarding the floodlighting at King's Park, who beat Dragons 2-0. In the Chairman's Cup semi finals White Youth, winners of the inaugural competition in 2012, hammered Standard Chartered 8-1 and will be joined in the final by 2015 winners IES who shaded Antonhill with the only goal of the game.
