Dear Members and Colleagues,

I am excited to announce that the Yau Yee League is BACK with a MASTER�s team at the HKFC/SCB SEVENS 2025. As the tournament criteria�s and expectations have changed over the past years, we were not able to field a team accordingly with the related requirements.

Over the past few months, I have taken the lead and the responsibility to arrange hopefully something special and unique for the Yau Yee League this year. As most of you know, a Master�s team must consist of 2-3 former legendary or famous football players preferable from overseas. I have been working hard to arrange and fulfill the tournament requirements accordingly.

The ExCo has approved last Wednesday my proposal and presentation regarding the strategy and positioning of the Yau Yee League with 2 Teams at the SEVENS 2025 without getting the League in any unexpected or additional financial struggling. The Masters�s team will be called �YAU YEE ALL STARS� for this tournament.

Without disclosing too much at the current stage, I can confirm that I have signed one legendary player for the YAU YEE ALL STARS, who has played in the English Premier League, in the German Bundesliga as well as in the Serie A in Italy during his active career. He has completed over 600 matches in his time as well as over 60 appearances in his National Team. Some more negotiations with other players are on the way.

I am currently also dealing and negotiating with various potential partners and sponsors to financially support the costs involved to accommodate our guests and our prepared special program during their stay and in particular during the tournament.

We have different sponsorship options or packages available and if you know someone who would like to know more and wants to be part of this very unique and special moment in the history of the YYL, please do not hesitate to contact our Secretary, our Treasurer or myself directly.

Despite taking the reduced number of YYL players in to account due to the involvement of ex professional players, we will ensure the similar procedure as in the past with the Yau Yee Select and the squad of the overall best 12 YYL selected Masters players will proceed and will be part of the Squad and the activities during the entire tournament.

I will update frequently on the latest News regarding the SEVENS tournament.

A friendly reminder that all interested Coaches can still submit their application as announced earlier for the YYL Select as well as the YAU YEE ALL STARS till next Friday 07.03.2025. Selection trainings to be scheduled to start by mid of March 2025 at Kings Park.

Last but not least, I am proud to announce that I have secured a sponsorship to fund our coming NEW Yau Yee League SEVENS Website, which will be a curtain raiser in connection with the main page following later this year. Both YYL SEVENS Teams will be featured on this special new website. More insight and additional features of the page will be announced at a later stage.
