Six-match ban for foul and abusive language towards a match official
Six-match ban for foul and abusive language towards a match official 2014年12月9日星期二

A player has recently received a six-match ban for foul and abusive language towards a match official. The dissent started when the referee blew for a foul against the player in question. The referee issued a yellow card for dissent. However, the player continued his argument with the referee - using foul and abusive language - which led to the referee issuing a straight red card. This would have been bad enough if the matter had ended there, but the player also approached the referee after the game to continue the argument and ended up with him swearing at the referee in very base Cantonese. Under League Rule 47, dissent is considered a serious breach of discipline.

Managers and Team Reps are therefore urged to remind all of their players of the importance of respecting the referees' decisions and that dissent and foul and abusive language towards match officials will be punished heavily with fines, disciplinary points and lengthy bans.
