Attempts to Influence Match Officials – Yau Yee League Rule 53 |
Thursday 19th October 2006 |
The Disciplinary Sub-committee (DSC) has received two red card reports in recent weeks that indicate that teams might have attempted to influence match officials in the award of red cards following violent incidents on the pitch.
In this regard, the ExCo wishes to draw teams’ attention to Rule 53, which states explicitly that when a violent incident occurs during a match, teams must not attempt to influence match officials. Any breach of this rule is considered to be a serious offence, and teams found to have breached this rule will be dealt with severely in accordance with Yau Yee Rules and Regulations.
If any team is seriously concerned with the decisions of match officials in respect of disciplinary or other matters, the correct procedure for filing a report is set out in Rule 48. - Hon. Secretary Wilson Hon
