The first round of the cup was played yesterday with Yan Po winning convincingly 3-0 against HKSS, HOB won 2-1 against GGFC, Hearts won 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time with HKUSA, Darts were not sharp enough to avoid a 1-2 defeat to University, Crusaders won by the off goal in a seven goal thriller with Corinthians, Grasshoppers leaped to a 3-2 win over White Youth, Colloids beat Rising Sun 3-1, WYFC84 won 6-5 on penalties after sharing four goal with Standard Chartered in the first 70 minutes, Power 22 went down 2-4 to Hoo Cheung, IES and Amphibians drew 1-1 with the former scoring a 4-3 win on penalties, Dynamo won 3-0 against Oxford, ANP hit HKU70s for six, CSOB scored the only goal in their match with Hung Art, Azzurri overcame WYFC06 4-1, OBA made three deposits into the Barclays goal without reply, Scorpions beat CAPS 4-3 on penalties following a 2-2 draw in normal time, Youth Coaches edged Skyline 1-0, and Bapcoll went down 3-0 to Corinthians.
In the first division the evergreen Andrew Mitchell scored a great opener for USRC in an action packed game that saw 816 score two second half goals to come back and draw 2-2 and Colts beat Spartans with the only goal of the game to move into the top half of the table.
